Have you heard of Twitter yet?
I am sure you probably have by now.
A friend of mine had mentioned Twitter to me a while back. I did check it out. But I must say I just didn't "get it" at first, so needless to say I didn't join all the other tweeters.
But the other day, another friend mentioned it to me, so I thought "what the hey, I'll look at it again". Maybe it was because it was just a different day, I don't know, but this time I did join. And I must say, it is really kind of fun "following" others around.
Well, you don't literally "follow" them, you just kind of watch what they are up to and/or saying and vice versa when you're being followed. What's really neat is that that are some people on Twitter, that you may not normally be able to, shall we say, mingle with. People like Joel Comm, John Reese, Bob the Teacher, Alex Mandossian, Brad Fallen, just to name a few.
What I love about Twitter is that everything is kept 'short and sweet'. That is, you only have room for a couple of sentences. You see, as a WAHM I don't always have time to read and/or write lengthy blogs or websites, but with Twitter, you don't have to.
Like any other Social Networking scenario, people use it for socializing, marketing and sometimes both. But most people (including myself) find it kind of rude if all you are doing is trying "pitch" something. The key is to be honest and be real. that builds trust and rapport and relationships. In the end you will be more effective with your marketing efforts, if you follow this rule of thumb.
Ok, so come find me on Twitter
Have a twitterful day!
M.
